I recently slipped in to a movie theatre to see Mary Poppins Returns. As many know, each Christmas - New Year's holiday, I do my best to see as many movies as possible in advance of Awards Season. In the real estate business, this particular time of the year is quiet, so I try to take advantage of this.

I quite enjoyed the new Mary Poppins. There are many references to the original including a guest appearance from Dick Van Dyke, the music is good and Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda are 'practically perfect'. I liked the updates with the BMX bikes and the lamplighters instead of chimney sweeps, yet Mary Poppins retains all of her charm.

What was astounding to me was the fact that there were very few children in the theatre for the showing I was at. In fact, most everyone were adults 40+ years old! Were we all there to recreate those 1964 feelings when we saw our first Mary Poppins? I think so! How 'practically perfect'.
